Goal the Dream begins

Finally a movie for all you soccer hooligans out there. Although being skeptical upon entering the DVD into my player, I was soon capitvated by the story of our main soccer player (i apologize his name escapes me at this moment). The plot is something like a mix between "Remember the Titans", "Bend it like Beckham", and "Glory Road" as a young Mexican player joins an underrated British team at the behest of his parents. Although I will not reveal the end of the movie, I can tell you that I was kept on the edge of my seat for most of the movie. My only complaint lies in the number of chances our main character receives with each new trial adding to my disbelief of real life soccer. Overall it was a very enjoyable movie that i would recommend for all teens and above. As it is the first soccer movie in a long time that holds its audience captivated one can only hope that a sequel may arise so time in the near future.

Interesting time to Grow!

Hello There! We are finding that Life Teen has had some great events lately. Take a look at the pix to the left of the page!!! Aren't Barbie and Andy cuties? Yeah, Life teen Core Members!!!How about Mike and Matt? You go girl!!!!

So...what's new: The first Life Teen movie night & discussion time on the film The Matrix generated a lot of comments. Truly it is a parable of Christian faith. Neo is the one ( spelled backwards) and is a direct reference to Jesus Christ -- the One and only Son of the Father. His name means Saviour.

Just so (Morpheus) also chooses to find a Saviour in NEO -- who by the way is also bald at one point just like him!!A cue to the Holy Trinity! Jesus says"He who sees me sees the Father"...Now, Neo must find out if the Oracle prophecy is true...He must then discover how to live it fully & save the world from the Evil one(S). To overcome the Matrix is Morpheus' plan too. Free Zion!

Application to real Life: Perhaps the real threat spread by secular humanism does little to involve or change our lives. Yet, the provoking thoughts that one day computers may completely take over our lives through AI is a terrible possibility. That is a result of poison of secular humanism. Never heard that phrase before? Check it out @ www. catholic.org for more info. Thus, is man's total disregard for the rights of God as creator also causing us to self-destruct?...A thought to ponder...

Also, Did you get the connection between Cloning and harvesting human energy potential?! WOWZAH! Pretty heavy stuff.

We welcome your thoughts on this film...Anybody who came or wants to comment can!

Next flick at the YMO room is March 4th -- Entertaining Angels --at 6:30 - 9:00pm...

Remember, The Thirteen Thursday Bible study begins this week!!! See you at the YM Room at 7pm. Ciao for Now! SBA
